Re: Theme could be more modern
Thanks for your suggestion!
We are already considering new colors, looks and themes.
But all things need a bit of time, not to mention a good logo and banner.
Don't let let fool you though, our focus is on providing good help and advise

How about something like this?
https://www.freewebtemplates.com/downlo ... 94556539/
Or a bit less aggressive and in this region?
https://www.template4all.com/phpbb-temp ... theme.html
We could always try to create our own unique style but that is a far bigger task....

Re: Theme could be more modern
Well, there is the problem LOL
I prefer the darker ones....
So it seems to be obvious that if we already struggle then we need more than one theme that users can chose, plus a suitable mobile one.
Problem is we don't have a big enough user base yet to make a meaningful poll on things.
What about just adding some basic themes in dark, colorful and bright ?
Shouldn't be too hard and won't cause a lot of drain on ressources either.
But over time we might get feedback on the available themes and build up from there?

Thanks for the input!

The current standard "Silver" theme is very good on mobile TBH.

Re: Theme could be more modern
LOL
I have to admit that I was not aware of things like theme changers and even options to modify a theme to your needs until I was fed up with one in a different forum and clicked a button.
With our modern phones we have all we can dream of but the abilitiy to choose from various themes and styles for your favourite forums really can make a huge diffrence.
If you are in a big city and have no worries about data and connection speeds you might prefer some fanc high res optimised theme.
But if you want to stay in touch everywhere you might welcome a clutter free and data friendly theme instead.
Same for those in bright offices or using a big TV in a semi lit room.
PhpBB offers a choice for everone if we allow for it.
I admit it makes no real diffrence NOW how we look and present ourself.
But a more personal touch will certianly help us to stand out from the crowd.
Once Instrucables is dea it reamins to be seen how many new users we can attract unless we start to post Ibles with links from now on.
Means we have start to fight for users and to make it worth their time coming here, so that start o not only read and move on but become active as well.
Sooner or later we will have to settle on own themes and layouts.
Otherwise we might as well give in now and just see this forum as hobby hoping someone will dare to post or ask a question.
I see a great potential for our forum to make a real differenc and provide a place where all skilss and all solutions are valued.
So I hope we won't go under in the WWW and one day stand out have a triving, active community.
