Stink and smells with resin printers - a possible solution ?!

I am still playing with the idea of getting a resin printer. Which brings the question of placement and dealing with those fumes. The one I have in mind uses a hood instead of a door. I just like the idea better in terms of access. Should mean all fumes are contained and only while you have it open ...

Phillips head driver bits - a hands on comparison!

I checked a few of the videos on Youtube where people "test" Phillips head screws and some bits for quality. Let's just say: What you see there is just a tiny snapshot or real abuse - BUT NO real world comparison! I have to dive in between 1400 and 1700 screws per day - 6 days a week. No just any sc...

Re: Sorting / aligning wood screws

I think I managed to design something that works half decent with just gravity.
At least the prototype does LOL
Will see that I finalise the design over the next week and then upload it in case someone else might have a need for it.

Re: Solvent welding / fusing Polycarbonate parts

For those "impossible" bush repairs: If you find some dried up resin, like from pine, eucalyptus or wattle - you can mix up a very strong "epoxy" based on natures best. Make a small fire and let most burn down. Grind up some charcoal so you end with some dust, grid and fine particles - does not need...

Solvent welding / fusing Polycarbonate parts

I just had the pleasure of getting a cordless blower for a repair. Won't name the famous brand but do say the handle is a failure point by design - you drop it and if it lands on hard groud the wrong way the flimsy bits connecting only one flaf of the handle to the housing snaps. Creating two housin...

Custom venting solution for hooded resin printers

Resin printers seem to soon replace the filament models for many printing tasks. Time to consider the many hobby level models out there for some improvements. A big downside of most available resins is the odour and with that also some health risks. water based resins and plant based ingredients alr...

Re: Anyone like buliding cars/ hotrods/ ratrods?

Well who cares about such tiny details ? ;) What matters is the story behind it and the progress to see happening - at least for me LOL Nothing beats some good old tinker time o old cars and nice engines if you ask me. Would still love to get my hands on a 60's bettle for a full restauration but the...

Sorting / aligning wood screws

If you do about 1000 of these 50mm G8 screws a day and they all come loose from a box .... Let's just say I am getting sick and tired of being poked by these needle points and trying to get a hand full of screws ready for use in my hand.... There is quite a few sorting machines out there, even on In...

Re: Long wood screws and how to make life easy

I tried oils and don't like them for screws and wood, plastic is a different thing though. As said, if a quality finish is required oil on or in the wood is not always your best friend. What I found rather helpful is every now and then to waste some time, like when watching a movie. I used some left...
